Ian Gawler, the founder of The Gawler Foundation
A CANCER healing program established by one of Australia’s best-known cancer survivors is coming to the Top End.
Ian Gawler – founder of The Gawler Foundation – designed the 12-week Cancer, Healing and Wellbeing program when he defied the medical world and overcame terminal bone cancer in 1981.
The program, a lifestyle-based, self-help course that supports the principles of integrative medicine, utilising meditation, nutrition, support and information, will start in Darwin this weekend.
It is designed to work in conjunction with accepted medical treatments.
Long-time Territorian Sue Brownlee has been endorsed by the Foundation to deliver the Darwin program.
“The Gawler Foundation has helped countless people deal with cancer over the past 28 years,” she said.
The program was delivered in Palmerston last year. It starts at Carers NT on Dick Ward Drive, Coconut Grove, from 10am to 12.30pm this Sunday.
